Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Determine job requirements
  2. Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
  3. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs
  4. Identify job requirements from specifications, drawings, job sheets or work instructions
  5. Assess converter/ transmission operation
  6. Obtain and interpret relevant information prior to any testing
  7. Undertake preliminary checks safely to prescribed procedures
  8. Isolate faults to component level and determine appropriate corrective action
  9. Assess component parts and determine the need for repair or replacement
  10. Use test equipment in accordance with SOPs
  11. Assess component parts for reuse or replacement
  12. Repair/replace faulty components
  13. Select replacement components using manufacturers' data
  14. Remove and refit components to converter/transmission assembly using appropriate tools, equipment and techniques
  15. Make adjustments using appropriate tooling/equipment and manufacturers' data
  16. Verify converter/transmission assembly is free of excessive noise and operates to specification after repair work is carried out
  17. Record all test and rectification activities
